David John Allison

December 31, 1951 — June 29, 2015

David J. Allison, 63, passed away on June 29, 2015 in Denver, where he had lived and worked as a paralegal for over two decades. David grew up in Elburn, IL with his family and a menagerie of pets, including dogs, cats, a pony, monkeys, reptiles, fishes, and other exotic creatures. He graduated from Kaneland High School in 1969 and received a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Northern Illinois University in 1973. David was an avid traveler who loved rock ‘n roll music and spending time with his family and friends. He was a great fan of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton, having recently attended several concerts this summer. He loved animals and nature, making frequent trips to zoos, the mountains, jungles, and beaches throughout the world. David served as a Methodist Lay Minister and was passionate about preaching the gospels of Jesus Christ. He made friends wherever he went and his humor, compassion, and spirit will be greatly missed.David is survived by his daughter, Sarah Allison and husband Paul McGuire; sisters, Lorelei (Raymond) Conrad and Susan DeSousa; niece Alexandra DeSousa and husband Michael Proulx; nephews Vasco (Rosie) DeSousa and Andrew (Aya) DeSousa. David is preceded in death by his father Robert Allison and mother June Allison Budd.Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10th, from 5-7 pm at Mile High Mortuary, 1220 S. Jason St. in Denver. Funeral honoring his life will be held on Saturday, July 11th, at 10 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1820 Broadway in Denver. He will be laid to rest at Jones Cemetery in Flat Rock, IL.
