In 1985, her husband Howard passed away and Doreen moved in with her daughter, Tina. Doreen was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren during her life. To my beautiful mother what a blessing it was to watch you. All the years we had together from cooking thanksgiving and Christmas dinners together in the kitchen to going shopping together or taking you to your doctor appointments. To coming out to the living room at night after I had tucked you into bed because you would be having nightmares so I would get my book with my Bible verses in it then we would start praying together it gave comfort to sleep. Then the glow on your face when your children, grandchildren,or your great grandchildren would come to visit you that made your day. And then when you would sit there and talk about your life in England what you went through in the war I don't remember one person who didn't want to sit there and listen to your story. Mom you might not know it but you were my inspiration I love you and will miss you more than you will know but now I know I have a beautiful angel watching over me and I will see you again. Your Daughter Tina Federico -Tina Federico

I'm going to miss you so much, Grandma. I can't remember a day that went by where I didn't think of you. You were my rock, and you were there for me through so much. I remember when you and my mom would wake me up for school with your dancing flower that sang and danced. I loved waking up to that. I loved when you used to come with me on my school field trips, I had so many fun times with you. I also remember when you came to my concerts, and told me how good my classmates and I sounded. You used to ask me to play Green Sleeves all the time on my instruments, and every time I did, your face just lit up and looked so bright. You were so proud of me when I played my first solo for jazz band, I played the song "Summer Time". I can't believe you kept every paper from my concerts, I thought they were long gone. I cried because I was so happy that you had those. I love you so much, Granny. There's a special place in my heart that is just for you. I will never forget you. Moving forward, I will make you proud of me in heaven and I know that you are watching over me right now with a smile on your face. I love you Grandma Shultz, rest in peace. -Philly Federico

We'll Mom what can I say we sure had a lot of fun going on trips back to monmouth I even tried to do some fishing on the mississippi and enjoyed driving around seeing some of the other towns. We also had fun going camping in colorado with you and Aunt Kit & the family you always had a great attitude and we're very supportive of all your children no matter what might of been going on in there lives and what great meals you and Tina prepared during the Holidays yum, yum so. I would also like to talk about your faith it was always there you I and Tina prayed many times when you became frightened at night and would have trouble sleeping we would pray the Our Father,23 psalm,Matt 8:23-27,John 14:1-4,Isaiah 40:28-31,Rev 21: 1-5 then mom would have a good night's rest. So Mom you rest in the Lord your Savior Jesus Christ Amen Love your son in-law -Tom Federico

Our Box Of Memories You and I have a box, It's called Our Box Of Memories I can't hear your voice, But you have put it in our special box. I look forward to sleep at night, So I can see your healthy body and smiling face, And it gives me comfort from dreams of you. I wish I could put my dreams of you in an album, For everyone to see, But I'm thrilled that you and I could put those dreams In Our Box Of Memories. The day you died I cried, From deal down inside you took my heart. Even though we are physically apart, You will always be in my heart. I wish I could see you everyday, But all I need to do, Is open up our box and there you will be, In Our Precious Box Of Memories. -Ariel

I am glad that I had the pleasure of knowing Doreen, she was a very interesting woman to listen to. I enjoyed listening to her 'back in the day' stories. She liked when I brought her fish, and elk or deer meat. I like that she was not a picky eater, which was nothing compared to other foods she said she ate 🙂 I was privileged to care for her while Tina took a few moments to herself. Some of my most recent and fondest memories, are the prayers and communications we shared as I cared for her, it was then, that we said our "I love you's" many times. So go and run free with the angels Dance around the golden clouds For the lord has chosen you to be with him And we should feel nothing but proud Although he has taken you from us And our pain a lifetime will last Your memory will never escape us But make us glad for the time we did have Your face will always be hidden Deep inside our hearts Each precious moment you gave us Shall never, ever depart So go and run free with the angels As they sing so tenderly And please be sure to tell them To take good care of you for me Author unknown. -Marcy Federico
