Richard “Rick” Urso, age 76 passed away in Aurora, Colorado surrounded by family on Monday July 27th, 2015. He was born on April 30th, 1939 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Richard and Dorothy Urso. On March 17th, 1984 he married Susanna Joyce Urso. Between the two of them they had five daughters that they loved very much. On December 31st, 1990 Rick retired from the Army after thirty two years as an E-9 Command Sergeant Major. In February of 2013 he retired from the Palm Beach County School District where he worked for Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. High School of the Arts and John I. Lennard High School.After Rick’s wife passing in October 2013 he became very active. Working out four time a week at Buckley Air Force Base, running two 5k’s a month, volunteering at the Wild Life Animal Scantuary, worked at Mile High Comic’s as often as he could. He enjoyed cosplaying as DC Villain “The Penguin”. He was always smiling, happy, positive, always had a story to tell. He had an amazing outlook on life.He is survived by his daughters Tara (Lamar), Erin, Michelle (Jeff), Kristen (Mitchell), and Tammy (Wallie). Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers Rocco (Kim) Urso, and Cardo (May) Urso. As well as many nieces and nephews. Family, Friends, and others whose lives Rick touched are invited to Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado. Friday December 4th at 3:15pm for his Military Honors Memorial Service.
